Letter To Residents

The prison door that needs to be opened is the door to your heart.

You are a person with great value, meaning, and purpose. Your freedom depends on you being honest and a having a relationship with God. I encourage you to manage your time and to not let time manage you. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. This means taking advantage of all the opportunities available to you while here at Life’s Beacon Center.

Be about what you say you’re about (RECOVERY). Practice personal integrity: the alignment of your thinking, what you say, and your actions. Your motives need to be selfless not selfish. Be patient. Be grateful. Make healthy adjustments when things don’t go your way. Communicate, don’t assume. You never truly know what someone else is thinking unless you ask them. Communication is the key to healthy relationships.

You do not have to find God, he is not lost. Just open up your heart and receive Him, learn to ask for help, seek direction and guidance, keep an open-mind, a humble heart, and act with humility in all you do. Commit to being accountable, dependable, and responsible in every area of your life. Half measures will avail you nothing.

The difference between a man and a boy is this: A boy does not like what he has to do, so he does not do it. A man does not like what he has to do, but he does it anyway. The difference between the two is one leads to maturity (Freedom) and the other to immaturity (Prison). What is your choice?

I encourage you to be the best person that you can be. Take a good look in the mirror and be true to yourself. Look deep within your own eyes, be honest about who and what you are, and be willing to change those things that you can. God will only do for you what you are not able to do for yourself. Do not fool yourself with the difference between the two.

I am committed to helping you help yourself. I will love you no matter where you decide to live, even in prison. The choice is up to you.
